The fun of driving through mud or up a huge hill is just part of being Canadian, we love to get out side and play in the dirt! No law against that, until last year our mighty moronic government brought in new law that states a citizen if caught damaging wilderness with a vehicle will be fined $100 000. Pretty broad spectrum if you ask me,what it's take , one tree? I could see if there was great heard's of 4X4ER's devastating the land there would be the need. There is the odd meat head that plows down small forests and digs the hell out streams but for the most part people are not that bad. So be careful when out enjoying a little dirt digging,be responsible because if a tree hugger spots you, there could be a nasty surprise, I think of taking the plates off when up yonder, fight ignorance with ignorance.
Would it be to much to ask city, province and federal government for some responsibility and positive engagement with people who for some reason or another love to drive off road, like to get stuck, play in dirt, and challenge the laws of physics.
2009 Spring is in the air, the mud is reaching peach consistency, trucks are being prepped......it's 4X4 time!
March 25th- been out to the gravel pit in Barnhartvale. mud wholes are deep! (5ft) but solid, did a little tour in theBronco, noticed alot of trees starting to come down from pinebeetle kill, be careful if there is a wind present...stick to the middle. Interior Hotrods is going to look into the possibility of the 4x4 club adopting the area, clean up the garbage and deal with the tree's if we could use the area as a designated 4X4 park....It's time Kamloops had one.
Putting together a 4X4 run through Bachelor Heights out to Eidith Lk area or something of that nature. there is a 4X4 designated road on the map.
Hear is a list of area's that are great 4X4Xfun,
- Barnhartvale gravel pit: located on old Barnhartvale rd just past the cattle gaurd by eagle point golf course (I think it's called Eagle point)
hill climbing and lots of trails, spring there is a good mud pit too.
- Westsyde rd about five km's out, just past a gravel pit on the right hand side. awsome trials for
dirt biking or 4X4ing.
